This notice supplements the Privacy Policy and describes the use of cookies and similar technologies, in accordance with Art. 122 of Legislative Decree 196/2003, Regulation (EU) 2016/679, and the Guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority dated 10 June 2021.
What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that visited sites send to the user's browser, where they are stored to be retransmitted to the same sites upon the next visit. They may be first-party (set by panamaroute.com) or third-party (set by external services integrated into the Site), session cookies (deleted when the browser is closed), or persistent (remain until expiration or deletion). Similar technologies (local storage, pixels, tags) are treated in the same way.
Types used
Technical cookies (necessary): essential for the Site's operation: navigation, cart, checkout, authentication, language and currency, security, and storage of consent preferences. They do not require consent and cannot be disabled via the banner.
Analytical cookies: collect aggregate information on how visitors use the Site (pages viewed, origin, device) to improve its content and performance. They are installed only upon prior consent.
Marketing and profiling cookies: track browsing to show relevant ads on other platforms and measure the effectiveness of campaigns. They are installed only upon prior consent.

The Site uses Google Tag Manager (Google Ireland Ltd) to manage measurement and marketing tags: Google Tag Manager itself does not install profiling cookies, but activates the listed tools only after the user's consent.

Legal basis
Technical cookies are installed based on the Data Controller's legitimate interest in providing the requested service (Art. 6.1.f GDPR). Analytical and marketing cookies are installed only based on the user's consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR), expressed via the banner upon the first visit and revocable at any time.
How to manage consent
Upon the first visit, the banner allows you to accept all cookies, reject them (continuing with only technical cookies), or customize your choice by category. The preference is stored for 12 months; it can be changed at any time via the “Cookie Preferences” link in the Site footer. Closing the banner without choosing is equivalent to withholding consent.
The user can also block or delete cookies from browser settings: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. Disabling technical cookies may prevent the use of the cart and checkout.
Data subject rights
The user may exercise the rights provided by Arts. 15–22 GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection) at any time by writing to stefano@panamaroute.com, and lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it).
